Pathogenesis of a rhabdomyosarcoma (undifferentiated type) in rats induced by a murine sarcoma virus (Moloney).

چکیده
Murine sarcoma virus (Moloney) of mouse origin induced progressively growing local sarcomas in newborn OsborneMendel rats. Cell-free extracts prepared from the rat sar comas were oncogenic in newborn mice and in newborn, 2wpck-old, and 4-week-old Osborne-Mendel rats. The sarcomas were readily transplan table in Osborne-Mendel rats of the same age groups. Tumors in the early transplant generations tended to regress. However, tumors transplanted for 8 or more gen erations grew progressively. The primary or transplanted rat sarcomas, in contrast to the induced mouse sarcomas, consistently metastasized to the draining h-mph nodes and lungs. Whole cell transplants or cell-

Myeloproliferative disorder of rats induced by myeloproliferative sarcoma virus.
The pathogenesis of myeloproliferative disorder remains unknown, but there have been some experiments on murine myeloproliferative sarcoma induced by certain viruses. Myeloproliferative sarcoma virus which is well known among such viruses, causes myeloproliferative disorder in mice and today's work will reveal tumorigenicity of this virus in rats. Two groups of Jar-2 rats (31 young rats and 28 ...

Soehner-Dmochowski murine sarcoma virus (Moloney)-induced bone tumors of New Zealand Black rats carry two morphologically different types of virus particles, namely, extracellular type C and intracisternal virus particles, which have thus far not been reported. These two types of virus particles have also been observed in the tissue culture cells derived from normal prostate tissues of A/Dm and...
متن کاملHepatocyte Growth Factor-mediated satellite cells niche perturbation promotes development of distinct sarcoma subtypes.
Embryonal Rhabdomyosarcoma (ERMS) and Undifferentiated Pleomorphic Sarcoma (UPS) are distinct sarcoma subtypes. Here we investigate the relevance of the satellite cell (SC) niche in sarcoma development by using Hepatocyte Growth Factor (HGF) to perturb the niche microenvironment. In a Pax7 wild type background, HGF stimulation mainly causes ERMS that originate from satellite cells following a p...
متن کاملUncommon Sarcomas of the Uterine Cervix: A Review of Selected Entities
Sarcomas constitute less than 1% of all cervical malignancies. With over 150 reported cases, rhabdomyosarcomas represent the most commonly reported sarcoma at this location. In this report, a select group of the more uncommon sarcomas of the uterine cervix are reviewed, including all previously reported examples of leiomyosarcoma, liposarcoma, alveolar soft part sarcoma, Ewing sarcoma/primitive...
